Camping
More than 800 campsites are available in the Mammoth Lakes area, many of them located in the alpine lake and forested streamside settings. For opening and closing dates, fees, limits on stays and reservation information call the Mammoth Ranger Station at 760-924-5500. For a map showing the locations of the many campgrounds visit the Mammoth Lakes Visitor Center/Ranger Station.

Sierra Star golf course is one of the most challenging alpine courses anywhere. The Parks and Recreation Department maintains six tennis courts at the Community Center Park site. The courts are open from dawn to dusk for drop-in play. The eastern gate into Yosemite National Park is just 45 minutes north of Mammoth Lakes . This entrance is closed in the winter.
